AK Verma, Joint Director of the Disabled Department, said that pension is given to 11 lakh disabled persons in the state. Presenting its supplementary budget on Thursday, the state government has made a budget provision of Rs 16,700 crore for social welfare and disabled welfare pension. Deputy Director of Social Welfare Department J. Ram said that about 56 lakh old people and 29 lakh widows get Vidhwa Pension Yojana from his department.
